A. We met at church. It was my first Sunday, and Sam was on ushering duty that week. Soon after the service, as I made a beeline straight for the exit – he intercepted me at the door.
S. I saw her from across the room and knew I had to talk to her. Thank God for Instagram – her travel photos sparked long conversations about bucket lists and dreams…. And we soon discovered our shared obsession with coffee.
A. Our first coffee ‘date’ was pretty intense – he asked me about everything, from testimonies, to relationships, to theology, to morals. I was surprised at how comfortable I was around him, how easy and fun it was to talk to him. We definitely lost track of time that night.
S. I knew after that conversation, this was it, but I thought I’d give it time. Her plans were a little different. Fast-forward a few months, she confronts me about where we were headed. As we talked, she asked for some space and time to pray. She took 3 weeks! – Abey counted.
A&S. Since then, it’s just been the most incredible journey. We’ve experienced so much favour and blessing in everything – from telling our parents, to our families meeting (via Zoom amidst the lockdown), and even made it through one year of long distance – it wasn’t easy, but we saw God’s presence and love through it all.
